Rita & Charlie:
There are few words to describe this special couple who were married for 63 years other than, incredibly committed and deeply in love. Meeting at a friend's wedding in 1950, the couple who were both planning on marrying someone else, soon realized they were meant to be together.
For six decades they raised four children, cared for their own aging parents, brought joy to their grandchildren and managed life's turbulence with the storms that families encounter. Above all though, they stayed the course, despite what life threw at them and remained committed to one another.
In 2014, Rita required full time skilled nursing care and Charlie continued to bring her coffee (another Raffi passion) and visit her beside... daily... until the day he died on October 21, 2015.
